A Few Little Updates

We are still alive! For a few weeks there it was really warm and so we were able to get out of the house to enjoy the weather. Scott and Tyler have been going up to the park a few times a week to practice baseball and play football. Tyler loves spending this time with his Dad.

Haley didn't want to play baseball, so instead decided to roll down the hill, again, and again, and again...

Then, last last week we drove down to Southern California to Scott's family's house. We took the kids to Disneyland again. We figured we may as well use our passes as much as possible, and the 4 hour drive isn't too bad with the kids! Tyler loved Soarin' over California, but Haley wasn't quite sure about it. We also took Haley on Thunder Mountain this time! She definitely prefers the Merry-Go-Round and less frightening rides!

Scott, Ty and Aunt Brooke coming off the Ride!

Grandma Fuller with the kids!

I just thought I would post a few pictures of what's been going on. We are keeping busy and loving life. Kate is 9 months now. Time is just flying by with her. I will have to post some of her new pictures soon.

Scott's bi-annual turn at posting something that doesn't embarass Angie

For those of you who have finished the Twilight series, for the second time, and are looking for a new Edward Cullen to fantasize about, let me introduce you to Malcolm Gladwell. He may not be an immortal vampire with impossibly good looks and super-human strength, but he is probably just as interesting. He is a staff writer for the New Yorker (no, that's not a celebrity magazine - sorry) and he has written three of the most interesting books you will ever read, I promise.

These books are fascinating because they take the ordinary, seemingly commonplace events, people, and stories around us and reveal a backstory that is far more complicated. They address just how much the little things matter (The Tipping Point), how there is great power in thinking without thinking (Blink), and how success may not always occur for why we might think (Outliers). I realize these are somewhat vague and even esoteric descriptions of his books, but doesn't that just add to the intrigue!

For a glimpse into the types of subjects his books cover, here is a clip of him speaking about what we can learn from spaghetti sauce. The clip is 18 minutes long, but so what, just think of it as being one third as long as Grey's Anatomy, but three times less retarded.

"So Grateful"

I am so grateful for my wonderful family! We were able to spend all last week up in Utah for Thanksgiving with them, and it made me realize how lucky I am to have such a great family. Because we don't live by family, and haven't for quite a few years, I cherish every moment we get to spend with them.
My Mom planned every little detail out and made the week perfect for all us. She is wonderful! We ate, played games, laughed, saw Twilight (with my Mom and sister-in-laws), found out my brother and his wife Ashley are having another boy ! (Yey!) , some played in a Turkey bowl, shopped, etc. It was a crazy, but perfect week.

My Mom, Haley, and I preparing the food

The Fam enjoying all of the food. It was so good and we all ate way too much!

Then it was on to the Thanksgiving story and sharing what we are all grateful for. I just love these moments!

This year my parents are only going to have 2 kids home for Christmas. The 3 married kids are with in-laws and Chris is on a mission. So, my Mom wanted to end of the week celebrating Christmas together. We exchanged gifts, had a gingerbread house contest, and even had a surprise visit from Santa!

All of the houses, but the winner was...
Rich and Kristen! They definitely took the most time! Love these 2!

Haley with Santa. She was a little scared at first, but warmed up to him in the end!

Finally, my sweet Sister-in-Law Ashley helped me take some 6 month pictures of little Kate. Kate is so sweet and adorable. I absolutely LOVE the stage she is at right now. She sits up, loves to cluck her tongue, is so happy and smiley, and really, just makes us so happy. I just want her to freeze right now and not get any older.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

A Little Late...

But Haley turned "3" on Saturday, October 11th. Instead of having a party, we took her to Disneyland for her to meet the princesses. She had lunch with Cinderella, Snow White, etc. and LOVED it! Our camera is still broken, so I don't have pictures to post of Disneyland, but I have pictures of Haley in her cute Birthday outfit from Grandma! We just love Haley and her fun personality. Our family wouldn't be the same without her.
